2.1 Health Effects - Acute

If swallowed, rinse out mouth then drink 1 - 3 cups of water. If effects occur/persist seek medical advice.

Eye

If eye contact occurs, rinse thoroughly under running water for 15 minutes with eyelids held open. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.

Skin

If skin contact occurs, wash thoroughly under running water. Remove contaminated clothing and launder thoroughly before reuse.

Inhaled

If discomfort is felt after inhalation of dust or powder, remove affected person to fresh air. If effects persist seek medical advice.

3. PRECAUTIONS FOR USE


3.1 Exposure Standards

3.2 Engineering Controls

Ensure workplace is well ventilated to maintain air concentrations below exposure stabdard, including the use of loca; exhaust ventilation. Breathing must be protected when decanting large quantities of product without local exhaust ventilation.

3.3 Personal Protection

Avoid inhalation of dust. The following protective equipment is recommended : Protective glasses with side shields. Protective gloves (PVC/Rubber/Neoprene/ Nitrile/Butyl Rubber). Dust mask if exposure standard is likely to be exceeded. Suitable industrial clothing. Protective equipment used should comply with relevant n Standards. Wash hands and face thoroughly before work breaks and before going home.

4.3 Spills and Disposal

Spills

Avoid dust formation. Sources of ignition should be kept clear. Clean up personnel should wear suitable clothing with protective glasses, gloves and approved dust mask.

Sweep or shovel up spills together with dust binding agent or use a vacuum cleaner. DO NOT let product directly enter drains or water courses. Place waste in labelled drums for disposal.

Disposal

Small amounts of waste can be disposed together with industrial waste to approved landfill in accordance with local regulations. Flush away spill area residues with copious amounts of water. Waste should be disposed of by incineration in accordance with all Local, State and Federal regulations at an approved waste disposal facility.

4.4 FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD

Fire / Explosion

Risk of dust explosions. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. particularly when handling or decanting large quantities of product. If involved in a fire, the product can emit acrid smoke and irritating fumes. Incompatible with oxidising substances and alkalies. Thermal decomposition will occur at 190 deg C.

Extinguishing Media

Fire-fighters should wear self-contained breathing apparatus for fire only. In case of fire, use water, foam, carbon dioxide or dry chemical type extinguishers. Contain and dispose of fire debris and contaminated extinguishants in accordance with local regulations.

Other Information

The degradation activity of the activated sludge in effluent treatment plants should not be affected if this product is discharged correctly in low concentrations.
